Tallaght athletes combined brilliantly to win at the Dublin Juvenile Indoor Relay Championships that were held in the National Indoor Arena in Abbotstown last weekend.
On Saturday, the U17 boys relay team of Abdullahi Adeleke, Kamal Oresanya, Marcus Mitchell and Dubem Amah combined to win the U17 boys 4X200m title in 1:36.33, and the U19 girls Gloria Oigbouchie, Ellie Carruth, Olivia Tyrrell and Uche Disu combined to win the U19 4X200m title with a time of 1:48.22.
The following day, Abdullahi Adeleke, Matilda Porcu, Dubem Amah and Brianna Dwyer Carty put in a superb, combined performance in the U17 4x200m mixed relay final after a very tight finish which saw them having to settle for silver with a time of 1:40.60, which was only .19 of a second off the winning time recorded by the Dundrum South Dublin team.
And the U19 mixed relay team of Dean Nolan, Uche Disu, Ailin Geraghty and Hazel Jordan also had to settle for silver in another thrilling finish with the Dundrum South Dublin team, which saw them just missing out for the title by .25 of a second after recording a combined time of 1:41.31.
All four teams were delighted with their performances and qualification for the National Indoor Championships in Athlone on the 23rd of March.
